It’s coming to the end of the school year, and (sort of cruelly), we’ve had fantastic weather while the kids have been doing exams. This May has been a great month for us to hit the beach at Ballyhealy, see picture below. Here’s a list of what is on in Wexford in summer 2012.

Bannow & Rathangan Agricultural Show | July 12 | This is one of the biggest & best agricultural shows in Ireland. It’s a great family day out, with competitions featuring specially bred animals (from cows to donkeys, from poultry to goats), show-jumping, cookery & craft, sheepdog trials, a fashion show and so much more. Medieval Weekend | July 14 – 15 | See living history for yourself at the museum which will feature an archer, armourer, blacksmith, leather worker, physician and wood turner, all in the museum courtyard. Art in the Open | July 30 to August 7 | The harbour, the sea, narrow lanes, ancient ruins, church spires & River Slaney will all act as inspiration for the artists who will paint in “plein air” directly outside their chosen subject.
