FEATURED ACTIVITY

OUR FABULOUS BEACHES!

Kilmore Cottage is 2km from the beaches at Seaview and Ballyhealy, (3 minutes by car). You can walk on the beach west to Kilmore Quay or east to Carnsore Point, tides permitting. En route to Carnsore you pass the picturesque lakes at Tacumshin and Lady's Island, both famous bird watching centres, and the latter a place of pilgrimage. Wexford County is surrounded on two sides by the sea, so you will never run out of beaches on holiday in Wexford!

There are so many to choose from, that we can't give a full list here. However, we give guests a map of the area so that you can find the ones you want. A few are mentioned below to give a flavor:

Ballinesker; a green flag beach. Normandy landing scenes from Speilberg's "Saving Private Ryan" movie was filmed here.

Duncannon; Large beach in sheltered cove. There is a car park on the sand, (it's hard sand!), and this allows access for wheelchairs and buggies. An international Sand Sculpting Festival is held here every August, (the dates change each year to suit tides).

Curracloe; an excellent sandy beach. Enjoy a walk in adjacent Raven Forest.
